Donna Shuford expresses the beauty she finds in nature through her own “visual vocabulary.” She enjoys working in a variety of media including collage, etching, linocut, monotype, batik, acrylic, and watercolor to achieve new styles of presentation.
A graduate of the University of Illinois, Shuford’s interest in watercolor blossomed when her husband’s career took the family to live in Paris, France. There she focused on painting watercolors. Returning to Connecticut, she continued studying with many noted watercolor experts.
Upon her move to Texas she began to explore printmaking through classes at Collin College. She also co-owned Gallery VIII in Plano, Texas. A move to Colorado brought more changes, painting larger works and works on canvas. Texas is once again her home and new adventures to come.
Shuford’s works have won awards from many prestigious groups. Her works have been included in many publications and books. Her paintings are in many corporate and private collections.
